Who We Are

In 1995, while living in Turkey studying oriental design, a friend of mine who owned a graphic design studio showed me something that completley blew my mind and started me on the path of my final career destination. I believe it may have been one of the first versions of Photoshop but she had scanned a print of Monet's Water Lilies and had changed all of the colors. At that time my history with computers was non-existent but from then on I was completley hooked. I returned to America and because at the time artist jobs were hard to find, I took the job at the Mechanics Institute Chess Club in San Francisco as 1st woman director in it's history. I was hired mainly because of my extensive chess background. I had been champion of Turkey a number of times and had played in perhaps over 35 international chess tournaments representing Turkey. I also had a long love relationship with this wonderful institution which had always been my favorite place. I decided that the club badly needed members and a web site. I together with my boss, Jim Eade, began to organize international tournaments. I learned hTML, Perl and how to put games on-line. The results were amazing . We were a huge success and I became more and more fascinated with the future of the web and the wonderful things it was capable of producing. FLASh 4 came next and for me this was the ultimate playground. Four years later when I left the job, I was determined to continue advancing the skills I had aquired and to make a living with what I loved to do best and in the year 2000 Sausalito Web Company was born.

David Blohm also comes from a chess background and was US Junior Champion at age 19. Because of his amazing pattern recognition skills, he worked his way through the University of California at Berkeley's Radiation Lab tracing Quarks. A computer programmer, he is perhaps, if not one of the best, certainly one of the most inventive programmers around. After the dotcom bubble burst he reluctantly began taking on consulting jobs in other states. Around that time, although I was tutoring FLASh at the College Of Marin in Novato, California, the rapid advancements in FLASh and my limited knowledge of action scripting was hindering me from taking advantage of some of its awesome capabilities. It was then that David joined me as co-owner, action script tutor and programmer and our full capabilities as well as our clientel began to grow.
